Ultrasound

Ultrasound uses sound waves transmitted at high-frequency that reflect off the body’s structures and back to an ultrasound probe placed on the surface of the body over the area being examined.
An image is generated from the sound waves and is projected on a computer screen. Ultrasound is one of the safest modalities available as it does not use ionizing radiation.
