BARIUM MEAL/ENEMA

A barium enema is used to look for problems in the stomach, small and large bowel (colon). The gut does not show up very well on ordinary X-ray images. A liquid that contains barium is placed in the gut, allowing the outline of the gut shows up clearly on X-ray pictures.

Dr. Alistair McBean has been a medical practioner for over 15 years, having attained his M.B B.S in 2002 and his D.M. in Radiology in 2009 from  the U.W.I. Since then he has been working with the Southern Regional Health Authority, first at the Percy Junor and May Pen Hospitals and later as a consultant radiologist at the Mandeville Regional Hospital until Jan 2018.

Dr. Tricia Dundas received her Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (M.B., B.S.) from the University of the West Indies, Mona, Kingston, Jamaica. She subsequently did her residency in Diagnostic Radiology at the same institution and successfully completed the DM (Doctor of Medicine) in Radiology in 2009. She has worked in the public and private sectors in Jamaica from 2009 to the present.

Dr. Cary A Evelyn is from the picturesque island of Barbados. He is a General Radiologist with a keen interest in cross sectional imaging. He graduated from UWI (Mount Hope and Cave Hill Campuses) in 2004 with a bachelor degree MBBS (Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery).
